The Magic Writing Formula

This short course is for students who want to learn the structure of academic writing that will help them in all of their classes and for all types of assignments. Along with my instruction, there are numerous essay examples provided with color-coded annotations for easy application. Great for elementary through college students. The American Mind: How to Create a More Intelligent Culture

This course for students is a guided reading through the excellent book The State of the American Mind by Mark Bauerlein and Adam Bellow.  Students will engage in a thorough analysis of the intellectual fabric of our country and explore how we can regain our common culture.  This course offers excellent discussion, research, and writing opportunities and can be applied to studies in English, history, philosophy, education, and more.

Frankenstein Lecture Series

This audio lecture series helps students understand and connect to one of the most important novels of all time, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Introduction to Research Writing

This course helps students learn how professional scholars engage in and present their research by exploring the excellent book iGen by Jean Twenge. Modules include analysis of important writing and reading skills by using a popular trade book on a relevant topic for young people. Good for students in middle school (with parental supervision) through high school and even college.

Sports and Literature

This course uses sports to teach students about literature, life lessons, and good morals. Sports are one place where we find heroes who teach us how to live, how to serve our communities, how to inspire those around us, and how to develop important skills. This course is intended for older students, but themes can be adapted for any age. It's also great for athletic boys who don't usually like English, and girls who enjoy sports will love it as well.

Technology and Christianity

This course is designed to help students develop a Christian worldview to help shape their perspective on media and technology. The modules include a reading guide to the book Digital Liturgies by Samuel D. James, filled with questions and activities, adaptable for students 7th grade through college.
